Bridleway running though field has been ploughed up yet again,
currently not suitable for Horse Riders, cyclists or walking.
The Rights of Way Act 1990 sets
out the legal widths for the reinstatement of public rights of
way after ploughing or sowing crops. Paths that have been
disturbed should be reinstated to a minimum width of 1 metre for
a cross field footpath and 2 metres for a cross field bridleway.

Now that all the fuss has died down about
driving 4x4 on the Public Bridleway through Warren Wood
(proposed fifth site of Center Parcs Holiday village in
Bedfordshire). The path was only re-surfaced some eight months
ago now it has been totally ruined again by selfish people
driving cars and trucks spoiling what little safe off-road paths
we have in the area. -If they have permission to drive on the
bridleway why damage it for others and why can't they use the
other 354 acres?

Bridlepath around field to leading to bridge has been
ploughed up in the last couple of months. What was
wrong the grass track? - This is vital safe link for our horse
riding community which gives access
to Greensand Ridge Walk.

Large cracks are appearing in the track leading up the bridge across
the M1 which just happen to match the width of a horse hoof. The
Bridleway is in daily use by a riding club which is close by.
Reported: June 2002
Update: April 2003 still waiting for repair.
Update: Aug 2004 Still waiting.

Poor drainage on Bridleway
The Bridleway tracks running thru the woods are completely water
logged. The track at present is not suitable for walking,
cycling or even horse riding. No wonder people trespass in the
woods on the other tracks. Surely some track maintenance can
be undertaken. Maybe the people who driving on the bridleway
should pay something towards its up keep? UPDATE: 7 MAY 2005 complete section of bridleway has
now been cleared and re-surfaced. A BIG THANK YOU to all that have
been involved with these issues.
The way marking indicates a bridleway but
the bridge is marked up as a Foot Bridge.
BHS statement :-
better than other bridges, lacks kicks boards, and decking goes
the wrong way.
The Bridge is unsafe and is need of repair due to subsidence and
surface failure. The Highway Agency are aware of the matter and are
attempting to allocate funds for the repair.

The gate has a metal posts which protrude above the ground which
stop the gate from opening to allow a horse and rider safe passage.
It is not possible to open the gate more than 50cm. Width between
gateposts (S.145 Highways Act 1980): 5ft on a bridleway.
Jan 2006 still waiting for a new gate.
..Location coming soon.
..The white van dumped at the side of the
road in front of the entrance of the Bridleway. Does anyone know
anything about it?
